CycleScheme; Ride to work Tax Free!

Cyclescheme Logo

If you have considered getting on your bike and cycling to work, not only are you helping the envirolment and your waistline but you can also tap in to the Government tax incentive called Cycle To Work Scheme.

Under the scheme, your employer can buy a bicycle and associated safety equipment which they then loan to you, their employee. The costs of the hire are taken directly from your wages as a deduction BUT because the deduction is taken prior to income tax, you effectively get the bike tax free! At the end of the hire period, typically 12-18 months, your employer simply sells the bike direct to you for what is referred to as "fair market value" (typically 10-15% of the original ticket price) and the bike is yours to keep!

Pedals Cycle Centre, actively participates in managed schemes, making the process of selecting and acquiring your new bike and safety equipment as simple as possible. If your employer already has arrangements with Cyclescheme, pop in and we can sort you out very quickly. Below are a list of some of the companies that we deal with and yes we can take Halfords vouchers as well, which means you get to choose from quality brands from us and know that your bike will be professionally set up for you.

Cyclescheme is perhaps the biggest managed scheme available. We've been working with Cyclescheme, accepting their vouchers for a number of years and you can be sure that if your new bike needs to settled for with a Cyclescheme voucher, Pedals is the place to come.
